Lexus launches the fifth-generation RX in the Middle East

In 2006, the Lexus RX400h became the world’s first hybrid electric luxury crossover. This year, the Japanese brand has introduced all-new fifth-generation RX.

The Lexus RX lineup has a sleeker silhouette that has been developed by extending the bonnet. Introducing a new Lexus badge on the tailgate gives the vehicle a clean and contemporary look. At the same time, the single-line Lexus signature taillights underline the iconic Lexus design style.

In the RX lineup, Lexus also introduces the RX 500h F-SPORT which boasts exclusive interior and exterior features, including a distinctive ‘F’ mech-pattern grille and a new front bumper design. The cabin has Dark Spin Aluminium ornamentation, a unique meter, bolstered sports seats, Black roof rails and exclusive 21” aluminium wheels.

Complimenting the RX’s new design style are the three new powertrain options. A newly developed inline 4-cylinder, 2.4-liter turbocharged engine producing 275hp and 430nm of torque is mated to a new 8-speed direct-shift automatic transmission. A new hybrid-electric system that combines a 2.5-liter petrol engine and an electric motor to produce a total of 246hp which is mated to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). And the first-ever turbo-hybrid electric motor in the form of a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor producing a combined output of 366hp, which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Which is equipped with the new RX 500h F-SPORT. The RX 500h F-SPORT also features the new DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system.

The 2023 RX offers a spacious interior with five newly designed luxury seats, including an 8-way adjustable powered driver seat. The 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats enable customers to store long items like surfboards. The RX also has a hands-free, electrically powered back door that a foot-operated system can activate.

Customers can also experience the nature-inspired Thematic Ambient Illumination, an optional feature that covers the RX interior in a choice of 14 themes. Some examples are Rain Forest, Waterfall, and sunset, including 64 different ambient lighting colors to choose from. Some additional features include a 21-speaker Mark Levinson Clari-Fi 2.0 sound system, a panoramic roof with movable outer sliding glass for the front section and a SmartAccess with a push-button start.

The fifth-generation Lexus RX is the latest model in the range to feature Lexus Connect. Lexus Connect service allows owners to enjoy a host of features in their vehicle remotely via a smartphone app.

Customers can choose from nine different exterior colors, including the newly developed Sonic Copper, and the interior comes in a choice of four elegant colors, including the newly developed DK. Sepia. Four new wheel designs have also been introduced, which include a dark gray metallic and bright machined finish 19” aluminium wheels and a choice of three different 21” options.

The all-new RX 500h F-SPORT comes with a range of six exterior colors that emphasize the vehicle’s sportiness, including Heat Blue CL and White Nova GF, which are both exclusive to the RX 500h F-SPORT performance model, while the interior is available in Dark Rose and black color.
