Korean Air’s First Two A350s Take To The Skies

Two brand-new Airbus A350-900s will officially welcome and fly passengers for Korean Air today. The first will take passengers between Seoul Incheon and Osaka twice daily, while the second will link the Korean capital with Fukuoka, Japan. The latter will be a once-daily affair. In March, the airline plans to deploy the A350 aircraft on its Taipei route, followed by long-haul destinations, including Madrid and Rome, in the second half of 2025.

The Airbus A350-900 features lightweight carbon composite construction and two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. Both contribute to its range of over 12,000km without requiring a fuel stop. Korean Air has configured its A350-900s for 311 passengers. The aircraft has 28 seats in Prestige Class in a 1-2-1 layout. Each passenger gets a 22-inch-wide seat, which can be extended to 77 inches in bed mode, and an 18.5-inch screen with a touchscreen remote control.

In addition, there are 283 seats in the Economy section in a 3-3-3 configuration. Travellers have Panasonic’s eX3 inflight entertainment system, offering a range of movies, music and TV shows.

Korea’s flag carrier confirms that it will continue expanding its fleet with A350-900 and A350-1000 variants. Meanwhile, it is busy finalising engine maintenance agreements with Rolls-Royce.
