Keanu Al Azhari will step up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Hitech in 2027, marking a significant milestone for both his career and Emirati motorsport.
The 18-year-old will become the first UAE driver to race in FIA Formula 3, extending an established relationship with Hitech after progressing through several junior single-seater categories with the team.
The move follows a strong period of development across GB3 and Eurocup-3, where Al Azhari has combined race victories, podiums and pole positions with a steady progression towards the international Formula 3 grid.
Al Azhari Continues His Progression With Hitech
Rather than joining a new environment for his FIA Formula 3 debut, Al Azhari will continue with a team already familiar with his development.
He has raced with Hitech across multiple junior categories during the past two seasons, making the 2027 step a continuation of an established programme.
That continuity should provide an important foundation as he moves into one of the most competitive stages of the Formula 1 feeder system, where adapting quickly to new machinery, circuits and race formats becomes increasingly important.
Al Azhari’s announcement was also recognised by Yas Marina Circuit, where he serves as a Yas Heat Ambassador.
GB3 Campaign Builds the Foundation
Al Azhari strengthened his reputation during the 2025 GB3 season.
He recorded one victory, six podium finishes and three pole positions, establishing himself as a regular presence at the front of the field.
Those results provided an important base for the next phase of his career, giving him both race-winning experience and the consistency required to progress further up the junior single-seater ladder.

Eurocup-3 Success Continues in 2026
The 2026 season has added further momentum.
Al Azhari won the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship with two victories and seven podium finishes before continuing into the main Eurocup-3 campaign.
With two rounds remaining, he sits third in the championship standings and remains among the leading contenders.
The combination of his Winter Championship title and continued front-running form has made 2026 another important step towards FIA Formula 3.
A First for UAE Motorsport
Al Azhari’s arrival on the 2027 FIA Formula 3 grid will carry significance beyond his own progression.
He will become the first Emirati driver to compete in the championship, placing a UAE representative in one of the principal international categories directly below Formula 2 and Formula 1.
It is also the latest step in a relatively rapid rise through the junior ranks.
A race-winning GB3 campaign was followed by a Eurocup-3 winter title and another competitive season in 2026. Now, the next challenge is confirmed.
In 2027, Al Azhari will take that progression onto the FIA Formula 3 grid with Hitech, carrying the UAE into the championship for the first time.
