Hold onto your hats, electric car fans! Jeep just dropped a new teaser for the Wagoneer S, their first electric SUV for the US. This sneak peek isn’t just about the reveal date (May 30th, 2024 – a whole year earlier than expected!), it also throws down the gauntlet with some seriously impressive performance specs.

The video, titled “Surpass Yourself,” takes place at a California racetrack and stages a race between the Wagoneer S and a Tesla Model Y Performance. While there’s no official winner declared, the Wagoneer S pulls ahead in the final shot, hinting at its potential to smoke the competition.
Here’s where things get juicy: Jeep says the Wagoneer S will go from 0 to 60 mph in a blazing 3.4 seconds, even faster than they originally thought. Packing a punch with electric motors on both axles for all-wheel-drive fun, the Wagoneer S boasts a hefty 600 horsepower, which we already knew. But there’s more! The video reveals a new detail – a whopping 617 lb-ft of torque. That’s almost as crazy as the power of the Hellcat V-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which even makes a surprise appearance in the video.
Remember that 400-mile range Jeep was aiming for with the Wagoneer S concept back in 2022? Well, it seems that number has gone the way of the dinosaur (or maybe the gas pump?). Jeep now estimates the electric Wagoneer will get a “300-plus” mile range when it starts production this fall.
