IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 Top Gun Mojave Desert. It is part of the brand’s “Colours of TOP GUN” collection. The sand-colour of its ceramic case is inspired by the US Navy pilot’s flight suits and the surrounding landscape of the China Lake area in the Western Mojave Desert in California. The US Navy’s Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake, home to some of their most skilled pilots, is based here.

Brown dial. The brown hour and minute hands, and subdued tone Arabic numerals and minute scale are coated with Super-LumiNova.

Case is made from sand-coloured ceramic. Diameter: 41 mm. Thickness: 11.40 mm.
Dial side features a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Closed caseback. The glass is secured against displacement by drops in air pressure. A soft-iron inner case protects the movement from magnetic fields. Water resistant up to 10 bar or approximately 100 metres.
Watch comes with a beige colour rubber strap fitted to a titanium pin buckle.

Powered by Calibre 32112, an IWC-manufactured automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, seconds, stop-second function, and date.
Parts: 165. Jewels: 21. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 120 hours or 5 days. The movement features the brand’s automatic pawl winding system.

Image: The triangle with two dots at 12 o’clock is a pilot’s watch feature. The date wheel is the same colour as the dial, and the date numerals same as the Arabic numerals and minute scale, a thoughtful and aesthetically pleasing design touch.
