Indian Navy and Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles Embark on a Historical Journey

The Indian Navy and Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles share a long-standing partnership.

The Indian Navy and Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles have embarked on a historic journey called the “Ride of the Marakkars.” This 10-day motorcycle rally, which commenced on December 2nd, is a tribute to India’s rich maritime heritage and the valour of its naval forces.

A Journey of Unity and Patriotism

The rally, led by senior Indian Navy officers, traverses a scenic 1,580-kilometer route along the Konkan coast. The convoy of 22 motorcycles, including BSA motorcycles joining the fleet for the first time, will make stops at various locations, including Pune, Satara, Dapoli, Ratnagiri, and Goa.

The “Ride of the Marakkars” aims to:

  • Honor India’s Maritime Heritage: Pay tribute to the legendary Kunjali Marakkars, renowned naval warriors.
  • Promote National Pride: Inspire patriotism and a sense of national unity.
  • Engage with Communities: Interact with local communities, particularly youth, through educational outreach programs and tree plantation initiatives.
  • Showcase Indian Motorcycles: Highlight the capabilities and reliability of Indian-made motorcycles.
