Hero Mavrick 440 unveiled in India at Hero World 2024

Hero MotoCorp unveiled the Mavrick 440 in India at the Hero World 2024, which is co-developed in alliance with Harley-Davidson and is based on the Harley X440 roadster.

Hero MotoCorp, one of the leading motorcycle manufacturers unveiled their flagship product – Hero Mavrick 440 on the 23rd of January 2024, this motorcycle marks the brand’s debut into the mid-capacity segment, and it will be the most powerful motorcycle from the brand.

The tail end of 2023 was buzzing with fresh new launches in the mid-capacity segment – Even Hero had its hand in the pot as a consequence of its association with the Harley-Davidson when Harley Davidson X440 was launched which was a by-product of a collaboration between Hero and Harley Davidson.

So, this shouldn’t come as a surprise when I say the Hero Mavrick 440 shares the same engine and platform as the Harley-Davidson X440 – but it’s not just a copy-paste of the Harley, it has its own set of features and somewhat distinctive design that sets the roadster apart.

Mavrick 440 uses a 440-cc oil-cooled engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox producing 27hp and 36Nm of torque – Hero Mavrick 440 sits on a trellis frame and the suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks at the front and a double shock absorber at the rear.

On the feature side of things, Hero Mavrick 440 packs some heat, it comes with a fully digital LCD instrument cluster which allows for smartphone integration and Bluetooth connectivity with an e-sim to access features such as text messages and call notifications, the bike also comes with a turn-by-turn navigation system and full LED lighting with H-shaped DRL incorporated inside a round headlamp housing.

Hero Mavrick 440 will be available in five different shades that are spread across three diverse variants. The base variant will be offered with spoke wheels and comes only with one shade- an Arctic White paint scheme. The mid variant will get alloy wheels and will be available in two shades- Celestial Blue and Fearless Red. The top-spec trim will be offered with machined alloys and will be available in Phantom Black and Enigma Black.

Pre-bookings are to begin in February and deliveries are slated to start in April of this year – The direct competitors to the Hero Mavrick are the Triumph Speed 400, the Jawa 350, the Honda CB350, and the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and how will it fair against these established names is yet to be seen since there are a lot of caveats concerning the Mavrick 440 one of them is the territory it plans to play on is relatively new for Hero and as has been the truth for a long time in this industry price plays an important factor – so, will be the case with the Mavrick 440.
