They’re calling this monstrous and earth-shattering update the Carbon Fiber Edition. You’d think an equally large amount of carbon would be needed to make this big battery-powered truck go faster, but no, all it needed were some slight tweaks.
GMC is eager to say this update was an optimization of software, propulsion calibration, some hardware, and some nerds analyzing the data after what we can assume are many launches of this 4.5-ton truck. The numbers don’t lie; this is a fast truck. Zero to sixty miles per hour comes in 2.8 seconds.
And don’t think that if you’ve already got a Hummer EV, you need to go turn in your truck for the newest, fastest edition. You’re going to get an over-the-air update that the new truck gets with King Crab. Remember Crab Walk? It’s the four-wheel steering gimmick that GMC markets for off-road and moving past obstacles (read: haphazard mall parking lot curbs and errant shopping carts stand no chance). It’s enhanced to respond quicker, and therefore, it’s better. All Hummer EV owners are getting the update
“The refreshed HUMMER EV enhances an already amazing vehicle with new software innovations and forward-thinking design,” said Al Oppenheiser, GMC HUMMER EV chief engineer. “From the start, we aimed to provide HUMMER EV owners over-the-air software updates. All 2026 HUMMER EV owners will have access to our latest software going forward, allowing new features to be introduced throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.”
The Carbon Fiber Edition will set itself apart visually from the 3x and 2x trims with unique 22-inch carbon fiber wheels, all-terrain tires, carbon fiber inserts, black emblems and approach shield, and a carbon spare. Magnus Grey Matte paint and Velocity Ember interior are the colors unique to this trim.
And if the Carbon Fiber Edition isn’t your style, they’ve added two new paint colors for lesser trims (Coastal Dune and Auburn Matte), and you can even watch Amazon Prime from the split-screen infotainment. Available as an SUV and a Pickup, this is the quickest battery-powered truck you can get!
