Ferrari claimed a triple win in the 2025 World Endurance Championship opening round at the Lusail Circuit, home to the 1,812km of Qatar. The victory was secured by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Niklas Nielsen in the number 50 499P, crossing the finish line ahead of the number 83 AF Corse, driven by Yifei Ye, Robert Kubica, and Phil Hanson. Third place went to the other official Ferrari crew – the AF Corse of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi.
The Maranello manufacturer recorded the fastest lap of the 10-hour competition – set by Pier Guidi – and secured pole position thanks to Giovinazzi. For the Prancing Horse, it was the best possible start to the third season, featuring the Ferrari 499P in the top category of endurance racing.
Ferrari delivered a perfect race, dominating the front of the field and making the 499P the undisputed champion. At the start, the number 51 car held on to the lead, while its sister car, number 50, which started third, immediately moved up to second. Both vehicles continuously dominated.
Despite two pit lane penalties halfway through the 1,812km distance, which hampered the Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi crew, they returned in perfect form, achieving the best possible result at Lusail. As previously mentioned, Pier Guidi also set the fastest lap of the race with a time 1’41’’259 on lap 141.
Under the floodlights at Lusail, Fuoco drove the number 50 499P across the finish line, completing 318 laps ahead of Kubica and Pier Guidi.
Ferrari and Alfardan Sports Motors offered VIP guests an exclusive experience in the Ferrari Hospitality Lounge, accompanied by Enrico Galliera, the Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer at Ferrari Headquarters. The event brought together fans and enthusiastic customers, giving them a front-row seat to the action at the Lusail International Circuit.
The 499P represents Ferrari’s return to the highest level of endurance racing, continuing to push the boundaries of technology and performance. The 2025 version of the Le Mans Hypercar retains its twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, which is directly linked to Ferrari’s road-going innovations. The latest version of the distinctive livery, which combines classic Ferrari red with bold Giallo Modena accents, enhances visibility while paying homage to the Prancing Horse’s endurance racing heritage.
