Historically, a two-cylinder Ducati Panigale has been derived from its much bigger V4 sibling, a bike which is homologated for racing and has been dominating the tracks around the world in superbike racing series.
The engineers at Borgo Panigale trickled down the technology from the bigger V4 sibling to the V2 versions. The engine itself shared the same philosophy as the bigger V4 – – such as the Desmo valves, electronics and the base frame.
But for the 2025 year, Ducati has decided to throw away the old handbook and start afresh – The new Ducati Panigale V2 features a new aluminium monocoque chassis and a fresh new Engine – which ducati claims weighting at just 53kgs is the lightest ever twin-cylinder in Ducati’s history – In fact, the Ducati Panigale V2 is lighter by 24kg in comparison with its successor – weighing in at just 176kg.
Traditionally- a new engine constitutes better and more power – but, that’s not the case with the 2025 Ducati Panigale V2 – the new engine although light and modern – even Ducati had to give in to the stricter emission restrictions – the new engine Produces 30hp less than the outgoing model, at 120 hp compared to 150hp of the outgoing model – but its Euro 5 compliant and Ducati has assured that with the overall lighter construction of the motorcycle – the new Panigale V2 is just as quick around the track and the performance deficit from the new engine is quite negligible – all thanks to remarkable power to weight ratio.
Ducati has unveiled two variants for the 2025 V TWIN Panigale – A v2 and much sportier V2s – the standard V2 gets a fully adjustable 43 mm Marzocchi fork at the front and a Kayaba shock at the rear. The Panigale V2 S gets a 43 mm Öhlins NIX30 fork and an Öhlins shock, that takes a step a notch when it comes to adjustability and personalisation – it allows the rider with a plethora of custom settings.
Ducati says the new Panigale V2 has been designed to offer better rideability on normal roads as the outgoing model inspired by the more aggressive and track muncher Panigale v4 -was naturally more aggressive and made a few compromises in the ergonomics department – but the new one with its lighter weight and better riding ergonomics shall make the Panigale V2 more streetable.
The new Panigale V2 comes equipped with a 5-inch, TFT display, inspired by the design of the Panigale V4. The 5-inch, TFT display’s user interface offers three modes – Road, Road Pro and Track.
The Ducati Panigale has always been a very desirable bike, mostly due to its exquisite design with clean lines. Such is the case with the new 2025 Ducati Panigale V2 it is naturally inspired by the elder sibling the v4- while attaining a few new features of its own – such as the tail-mounted twin exhaust – which does look rather awkward.
