Dubai’s New Variable Parking Charges: What You Need To Know

Increased prices, new premium parking zones, and more!

Dubai’s car drivers — big changes are coming to the way you park, and it’s time to buckle up for the slightly more expensive ride. Starting April 4, 2025, Parkin — Dubai’s official parking operator — is rolling out a new variable parking tariff system. With peak and off-peak pricing now in play, premium parking spots are getting pricier, while standard zones retain their rates. Let’s break it down.

Peak Hour Charges Set to Increase

During rush hour (8:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM), high-demand parking spots near metro stations, business districts, and major shopping centers will cost AED 6 per hour. Standard parking rates remain at AED 4 per hour.

Premium Parking Zones Explained

Premium parking zones have been set based on proximity to metro stations, high occupancy levels, and commercial district locations. The aim is to improve accessibility, ease congestion, and encourage public transport use.

Dubai’s Parking Zones & New Pricing

Dubai’s parking system is split into four zones: A, B, C, and D. Some areas will now be renamed AP, BP, CP, and DP to reflect premium pricing.

Zone A:

  • Standard: AED 4/hour

  • Premium (Zone AP): AED 4/hour off-peak & AED 6/hour peak.

Zone B:

  • Standard: AED 3/hour off-peak & AED 4/hour peak

  • Premium (Zone BP): AED 3/hour off-peak & AED 6/hour peak

Zone C:

  • Standard: AED 2/hour off-peak & AED 4/hour peak

  • Premium (Zone CP): AED 2/hour off-peak & AED 6/hour peak

Zone D:

  • Standard: AED 2/hour off-peak & AED 4/hour peak

  • Premium (Zone DP): AED 2/hour off-peak & AED 6/hour peak

Event Parking: A New Congestion Fee

From February 2025, parking near major event venues, including the Dubai World Trade Centre, costs AED 25 per hour during exhibitions and festivals to manage demand and reduce congestion.

Why These Changes?

Dubai is strategically adjusting fees to improve traffic flow, enhance parking efficiency, and encourage public transport use. By implementing peak and off-peak pricing, Parkin aims to keep parking spaces accessible while reducing unnecessary congestion.

For car enthusiasts and daily commuters alike, these changes mean one thing: planning ahead is not optional anymore! Whether it’s beating the peak-hour rush or exploring alternative transport options, staying informed will help you navigate Dubai’s new parking landscape like a pro. Stay tuned for further updates as the city refines its mobility solutions.
