DOXA introduces the exciting new SUB 750T Clive Cussler

DOXA has introduced the SUB 750T Clive Cussler. It is the brand’s third homage to the “legendary American novelist and explorer Clive Cussler — who would have turned 94 today, and whose adventure novels helped bring global recognition to SUB dive watches.”

15th November, 1931 is Clive Cussler’s birthdate. The SUB 750T Clive Cussler is a limited edition of 94 pieces.

“Clive Cussler’s novels, celebrated across the globe, offered a natural stage for DOXA watches — positioning them as an essential tool for his heroic character. The iconic SUB dive watch with its orange dial continues to inspire. As we celebrate what would have been Clive Cussler’s 94th birthday, we pay tribute to a man whose stories transported generations of readers, and whose vision continues to shape the spirit of our brand. We extend our heartfelt thanks to his family for the trust and friendship that have united us for decades.”Jan Edöcs, CEO of DOXA.

Key Features

Functions

Image: Notice the NUMA logo at 7.30. Short for National Underwater and Marine Agency – a non-profit organisation Clive Cussler founded in 1979.

Hours, minutes and seconds with a stop seconds function.

Date at 3 o’clock.

Dial

Image: Diving tools. The legibility offered by the Super-LumiNova at depth is a critical feature of a dive watch.

Orange dial – a DOXA feature since the 1960s, “made famous by Clive Cussler and his hero Dirk Pitt.” The hour and minute hands, hour-markers, and bezel markers are coated with Super-LumiNova.

Numerals 7, 15, and 31 are displayed in orange (as on header image) as a tribute to Clive Cussler’s birthdate.

Case and Bracelet

Image: DOXA states that the refined and slimmer case of the new SUB 750T makes it more ergonomic, comfortable, and provides “excellent balance on the wrist,” – attributes essential for a dive watch. The rotating unidirectional bezel is to calculate and monitor no-decompression dive times. Notice the brand’s fish emblem embossed on the screw-in crown.

Case is made from stainless steel. Diameter: 45 mm * 47 mm. Thickness: 11.95 mm. Lug width: 21 mm.

Dial side features a flat scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Stainless steel solid caseback is screwed to the main case. Water resistant up to 75 ATM / 750 metres / 2,460 feet.

The watch comes with a “beads of rice” bracelet made from stainless steel. Its folding clasp is engraved with the ‘DOXA fish’ emblem and features a ratcheting wetsuit extension. An orange NATO strap with a central black stripe is also provided.

Movement

Image: Notice the engraved compass rose – “a recurring motif in Clive Cussler’s literary and personal universe.” Each direction represents an important aspect of his life’s work: North — for constancy and the search for truth. South — for the unknown and the lure of the exotic. East — for beginnings and discovery. West — for the fulfilment of quests and the unveiling of mysteries.”

Powered by the Sellita SW300, a Swiss Made automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, seconds with stop seconds function and date. Jewels: 25. Frequency: 28,800 VPH or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 56 hours (approximately). Movement decorated by DOXA. The Sellita SW300 is a dependable movement, easily serviceable by competent watchmakers worldwide.

“Bold. Creative. Adventurous. That’s how my father approached life. Whether he was tracking down lost shipwrecks or crafting new adventure stories, he always followed a path that was uniquely his own. That spirit is perfectly captured in this DOXA timepiece that bears his name.

The relationship between DOXA and my father was always much more than a simple partnership. It was a shared human and family adventure — one that lives on today through his legacy and the work of NUMA. I am deeply grateful to DOXA for honoring his legacy with a watch that reflects his courage, originality, and passion for exploration.”Dirk Cussler, son of Clive Cussler and author.

Our Thoughts

Image: An elegant companion on land, and an essential instrument underwater. Its homage to Clive Cussler makes it immensely special, and a must have for collectors of dive watches.

The SUB 750T Clive Cussler highlights DOXA’s ability to make an excellent dive watch that possesses provenance and rarity at an accessible price. A fantastic addition to any dive watch collection.

We covered the second homage last year – the DOXA SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler. DOXA also has a range of SUB cufflinks in various colours, including ‘Professional orange’ – a perfect accessory to complement the orange dial of the SUB 750T Clive Cussler.
