Delta has announced that it will launch nonstop flights to two new destinations from LAX: Hong Kong and Chicago.
Los Angeles To Hong Kong
Delta will begin operating daily nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Hong Kong from June 6, 2026. An Airbus A350-900 will ferry passengers on both sectors. The aircraft will feature four cabin types: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main. Where Delta One offers lie-flat seating and a four-course meal, Delta Premium Select provides wider seats with deeper recline, extra space, and amenities to make the journey more comfortable.
The Los Angeles-Hong Kong route, which will boost Cargo capacity by more than 20 tonnes per flight, will also strengthen the Joint Venture between Delta and Korean Air by expanding the partnership’s reach and increasing travel options for passengers across the Pacific.

Los Angeles To Chicago
The route between Los Angeles and Chicago will go live on June 7, 2026. Delta will deploy a Boeing 737-800, featuring Delta First, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main cabins. In addition to seatback entertainment and a charging port at every seat, all seats will offer free and fast Wi-Fi to Sky Miles Members. Delta confirms three daily flights on this route.
Strengthening Presence At LAX
Both new routes will further strengthen Delta’s presence at LAX, where the airline already claims the title of being the largest global carrier with over 160 peak-day departures to more than 50 destinations. Soon, Delta will begin operating direct flights to Shanghai, followed by the year-round service to Melbourne in December 2025.
Delta, headquartered in Atlanta, has been making substantial investments to enhance its presence at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), thereby establishing it as a premier coastal gateway for both international and domestic travel. As California’s busiest airport and one of the top five in the United States, it recently welcomed the airline’s second lounge, a Delta One Lounge, situated adjacent to the Delta Sky Club at Terminal 3. This development, along with the Sky Way, exemplifies the results of a USD 2.7 billion investment.
