Delta To Begin Flying Two More Routes In 2025

About three weeks ago, Delta Air Lines detailed its plan to set a personal record next summer with over 700 weekly trans-Atlantic flights. Well, the airline has announced that it will further its push by adding two more routes, which will go live during the same period.

The first of the two is a first for Delta. Through its codeshare agreement with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), the US carrier will launch a nonstop service between Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Copenhagen. With three weekly flights planned, this route will join Delta’s increasing network in May 2025. An Airbus A330-300 widebody will serve passengers with a four-class layout: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin. Once launched, it will bring Delta’s direct offerings to Europe from Minneapolis to seven.

The airline’s second route will take flight the following month. In June 2025, Delta will restart its direct service between Los Angeles and Shanghai. An Airbus A350-900 will ferry passengers to and from three times weekly. The said aircraft will also feature a four-class configuration, as mentioned above.

At Los Angeles, Delta continues to bolster its presence. Besides the resumption of Shanghai service, the airline offers more than 150 peak-day departures to about 60 destinations worldwide. The list includes new and resumed services to Auckland, Paris and Brisbane, starting December 4, 2024.
