Bvlgari introduced the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon at Watches and Wonders Geneva, held during April 1st – April 7th, 2025. It sets a 10th world record for ultra-thin watchmaking for the LVMH owned Italian brand.
Key Features
Functions
Hours and minutes. Flying tourbillon.
Dial
Skeleton dial. The hour and minute hands are made from polished brass and are rhodium plated. The hour subdial is made from sand-blasted brass with an anthracite DLC coating. The rachet wheel with its engraved geometric pattern is made from circular grained steel.
Movement

“Today, Bvlgari has taken skeletonisation to the next level on the new Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon – to maximise light diffusion throughout the movement. This approach creates striking contrasts through contemporary decorative techniques applied to key visible components: the bezel flange’s polished slope, the finely rhodium-plated tourbillon balance and inertia blocks, and the sunburst-finished, rhodium-plated tourbillon bridge – refined modern finishes that subtly enhance the watch’s mechanical artistry. Each skeletonised component must have the right balance between efficiency and aesthetics, between resistance, reliability, and ornamentation. It means the margin for error is even smaller. The exposed nature of a skeleton movement demands absolute perfection in design, execution, and finishing.”
Case and Bracelet
Diameter: 40 mm. Thickness: 1.85 mm.
Bezel, case middle, and lugs are crafted from microbead-frosted titanium. Main plate – which also houses the movement – is crafted from tungsten carbide. Two planar crowns – 8’clock to wind the watch and 3 o’clock to set the time – are made from stainless steel and are circular grained. Integrated bracelet is made from microbead-frosted titanium. Including its folding clasp, it is 1.50 mm thick.
“The idea was to create a watch that encapsulates all our expertise. It’s not just about having the finest design but achieving a precise execution that tells the story of the Octo Finissimo series, while respecting the integrity of its distinctive aesthetic codes. Every detail, from the indexes to the tourbillon skeleton, bears witness to our commitment to excellence.” – Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Executive Director of Watch Design at Bvlgari.
Our Thoughts

Bvlgari’s debut Watches and Wonders was filled with Italian flair and style (their beautiful booth and superb expresso), and achievement (watches and jewellery). In addition to the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, they unveiled the Serpenti Aeterna, a transformation of their timeless icon.
Last year I wrote about the Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC, a watch that left me speechless. With the new Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, Bvlgari soldiers on by perfecting ultra-thinness on the Octo Finnisimo – their 21st century horological icon – and further cementing itself as a serious horological brand.
