British Airways Confirms New Route To Finland

From December 3, 2024, until February 14, 2025, British Airways’ (BA) subsidiary BA Euroflyer will operate two weekly flights between London Gatwick and Ivalo, home to Finland’s northernmost airport. Located deep within the Arctic Circle, Ivalo attracts visitors worldwide during the winter season. The small town is also the gateway to Saariselkä, a resort village with several winter activities, including snowmobile safaris, skiing, snowshoeing and toboggan rides.

The outbound flight – BA2860 – will depart from London Gatwick at 08:35 and land at Ivalo at 14:30. The return leg – BA2861 – will leave from Ivalo and land at London Gatwick at 15:30 and 17:30, respectively. All times mentioned are local. Both to and fro flights will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays. Fares for return flights start at GBP 345, and an Airbus A320 will serve the route.

Besides Ivalo, BA Euroflyer will also operate a daily service to Larnaca, Cyprus, during the winter season from November 4, 2024. That means BA will offer flights to Larnaca from London Heathrow and London Gatwick over the winter.
