British Airways Adds New Short-Haul Routes For Winter 2025

New routes to Rabat, Graz, and Madrid to enhance European connectivity.

British Airways has announced three new routes to its short-haul schedule for the upcoming winter season. Expanding its reach across Europe and North Africa, the airline will now serve three additional destinations: Rabat, Morocco; Graz, Austria; and Madrid, Spain. While the first two will be operated by BA Euroflyer from London Gatwick, Madrid will join BA Cityflyer’s network, departing from London City.

Rabat, Morocco

The Rabat service starts on November 5, 2025, operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays with Airbus A320 aircraft, fares from GBP 70 per sector. It’s British Airways’ third Moroccan route, joining Marrakech and Agadir, meeting rising demand from 1.3 million more visitors annually. The route offers cultural heritage and coastal appeal, ideal for winter sunseekers.

Graz, Austria

British Airways flights to Graz commence on November 21, 2025, operating three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with Airbus A320 aircraft. Ticket prices start at GBP 60 each way. Once live, British Airways will be the only direct operator from London to Graz, expanding its Austrian routes that include Vienna, Salzburg, and Innsbruck. Graz is known for its architecture and seasonal events like Christmas markets and summer festivals.

Madrid, Spain

The new Madrid service from British Airways Cityflyer launches on December 1, 2025, with 11 weekly flights from London City, with fares starting at GBP 78. It complements Heathrow services, boosting total London–Madrid flights to 44 weekly, with schedules optimised for onward connections to South America, including Bogotá, Montevideo, and Lima. Serves business and leisure travellers seeking flexibility.

Premium Offering: Club Europe

All three routes will feature British Airways’ Club Europe cabin. That option includes dedicated lounge access at departure airports, complimentary meal service, and an enhanced baggage allowance. Additional seat comfort and priority boarding round out the premium experience.

With this expansion, British Airways’ short-haul network will increase to 130 destinations, emphasising its strategic goal to enhance regional and international connectivity while providing superior service across all travel segments.
