Bremont has introduced the Altitude MB Meteor Orange Barrel. It is a re-introduction of the orange-coloured central knurled barrel to the MB Meteor model. It is presented in a black and a silver dial version.
Bremont’s MB collection pays homage to their 16-year partnership with Martin-Baker, the renowned British manufacturer of ejection seats that have saved countless fighter pilots lives.
Key Features
Functions and Operation
Image: Black dial on titanium bracelet (same as header image). Notice the patented inner unidirectional Roto-Click bezel, operated by the crown at 4 o’clock. “The return of the vibrant orange central barrel on both the silver and black dial editions of the MB Meteor, is a nod to the original colour palette of the partnership (with Martin-Baker).”
Central hours, minutes, and seconds with stop seconds function.
Date at 3 o’clock.
Crown at 2 o’clock for winding and time / date setting.
Crown at 4 o’clock to operate the patented inner unidirectional Roto-Click bezel.
Dial
Black Dial
Image: The lollipop seconds hand is counterbalanced with a looped ejection pull handle featuring black and white stripes. The border around the date window is a nice design touch. A pilot’s watch must be well lit in the dark.
Brushed black galvanic metal dial. Applied Arabic numerals and hour-markers filled with white Super-LumiNova (blue emission). The gloss-finished black hour and minute hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova (blue emission). The black seconds hand features a red lollipop tip and a monochrome pullcord tail. Black Roto-Click bezel.
Silver Dial
Image: Notice the vertical brushed finish and the applied stencil style Arabic numerals and hour-markers. I like the contrast between the silver and red accents (and black and red accents for the black dial version.)

The gloss-finished black hour and minute hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova (blue emission). The black seconds hand features a red lollipop tip and a monochrome pullcord tail. Silver Roto-Click bezel.
Case
Image: Silver dial on titanium bracelet. The Trip-Tick case is a 3-part construction, with the knurled central barrel sandwiched between the top part of the case and the caseback. Grade 2 titanium is difficult to machine, as we learnt when we covered the MING 37.02 Ghost.
Case is made from Grade 2 titanium. It features the brand’s Trip-Tick case construction with the orange-coloured central Cerakote ® barrel.
“The barrel is constructed from grade 2 titanium and coated with a ceramic finish developed by Cerakote® — a proprietary blend of ceramic and polymer materials engineered for exceptional toughness. The ceramic content provides outstanding hardness and thermal stability, while the formulation ensures strong adhesion and long-term performance for challenging conditions.”
Diameter: 42 mm. Thickness: 12.23 mm. Lug-to-lug distance: 49.30 mm. Lug width: 22 mm.
Dial side features a glass box sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. Titanium caseback features a sapphire crystal. Water resistant up to 10 ATM or approximately 100 metres.
Left: Black dial on black rubber and leather strap. Right: White dial on NATO strap.
Both dial versions are available with either a titanium bracelet (quick release), black rubber (outer) and leather lined strap (quick release), and a black and anthracite NATO strap.
Movement
Image: The case features an anti-magnetic protection ring for the movement, and a protective anti-shock mount. The movement is finished in gunmetal grey with Geneva stripes.
Powered by BB14-AH, an automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, seconds with stop seconds function and date. It is based on the La Joux-Perret G100 movement.
Jewels: 24. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 68 hours.
Our Thoughts
As I wrote in our earlier coverage on the Terra Nova collection, the brand’s “origins and DNA is rooted in aviation.” The Altitude MB Meteor Orange Barrel is not just another pilot’s watch. Its link with Martin-Baker gives it (and the entire MB range of watches) authenticity and provenance. It is like IWC Schaffhausen’s Colours of TOP GUN collection (please read here and here).
Left: Black dial on titanium bracelet. Right: Silver dial on NATO strap. My pick would be the Silver dial on black rubber and leather strap. “As with all Bremont models within the Altitude collection, the MB Meteor has undergone the same rigorous testing protocols developed in partnership with Martin Baker, including live ejection testing, extreme temperature exposure, vibration, and impact testing—ensuring its credibility as a truly military-grade instrument.”
Military and pilot’s watches have a cult following. The Altitude MB Meteor Orange Barrel will appeal to collectors who have a passion for pilot’s watches.
