Hours and minutes on off centred dial. Small seconds at 9 o’clock. Power reserve indicator near 12 and 1 o’clock. Crown at 3 o’clock for winding and time setting.
Dial
Inverted open dial revealing the balance wheel and spring, as well as part of the gear train. Off centred hours and minutes dial made from Blood Jasper. Hour and minute hands are made from polished stainless steel. Small seconds and power reserve hands are made from blued stainless steel.
“Blood Jasper is a gemstone traditionally believed to aid warriors, symbolising courage and protection. It is used to promote vitality and healing for both body and mind and encourages facing challenges with resilience and adaptability. In addition, Blood Jasper is known for boosting physical energy, courage, and willpower, while simultaneously fostering creativity and determination. When Blood Jasper is cut, it is carefully sliced into an extremely thin slab that must be perfectly flat and even. The dial is then polished to a bright finish, which enhances the vibrant red and green patterns characteristic of the gemstone, and it is backed by metal support. No two Blood Jasper stones are identical, making each dial completely unique.”

Powered by calibre 13BMDR12C2, a manually wound manufacture movement that drives the hours, minutes, small seconds, and power reserve indicator. Diameter: 31 mm or 13 ½ lignes. Thickness: 4 mm. Parts: 227. Jewels: 45. Frequency: 21,600 vph or 3 Hz. Power reserve: 168 hours or 7 days from one barrel.
Case
Case is made from polished Grade 5 titanium. Diameter: 40 mm. Thickness: 9.8 mm. Dial side and caseback feature a sapphire crystal. Water resistant up to 30 metres. Bracelet is made from Grade 5 titanium fitted with a folding clasp. It features“3mm of adjustability Built-In, to accommodate minor fluctuations in wrist size throughout the day.”

Our Thoughts
The Récital 12 is an interesting watch. It combines a slow beat movement that is inverted – enabling the mechanical excitement to be viewed on the dial side. In addition, the off centred dial for hours and minutes is the perfect canvas for BOVET’s Métiers d’Art and artistic expression. The brand has unveiled versions with dials in Tiger’s Eye, Malachite, and guilloché – especially the brand’s “Lotus Flower” pattern coated in 8 layers of rich lacquer – all housed in a titanium case and bracelet.
