Macquarie AirFinance has confirmed it has purchased 30 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, an order which was previously listed as unidentified in Boeing’s July Orders & Deliveries. This new deal raises the Dublin-based aircraft lessor’s total Boeing 737 MAX holdings to 70, strengthening its role as a major player in the global single-aisle leasing market. The new order is Macquarie AirFinance’s second direct deal with Boeing, with the first announced in July last year during the Farnborough Airshow 2024.
Aircraft Capabilities And Market Fit
The Boeing 737-8 can seat up to 210 passengers and has a range of 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 km). Known for its operational efficiency, reliability, and widespread airline use, it is a key asset in lessor portfolios, with the 737 MAX family accounting for about 30 per cent of all financed jets worldwide.

Industry Outlook and Environmental Impact
Boeing predicts a demand for 33,000 new narrowbody aircraft over the next twenty years. Its primary player serving that space, the 737 MAX family, delivers up to 20 per cent reductions in fuel consumption and carbon emissions compared to older models.
