Boeing Bags A Direct Order From Avia Solutions Group For The First Time

American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has bagged a big order for jets from Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, insurance) provider. The agreement comprises a firm order for 40 737-8 jets with the option for an additional 40 later. It’s the first time the Dublin-based company has placed a direct order with Boeing.

Avia Solutions Group currently operates a fleet of 220 jets, including 14 Boeing 737-8s. The company has eleven air operator certificates (AOC). The list includes Avion Express, Smartlynx, Klasjet, Air Explore, BBN, Ascend Airways, and Skytrans, among others. These AOCs are operational all year round in more than 60 countries on behalf of several scheduled airlines and tour operators. By adjusting to market fluctuations, Avia Solutions Group helps maximise revenue by increasing seating capacity exclusively during peak season demands.

The Boeing 737-8 can seat between 162 and 210 passengers, depending on the configuration. The single-aisle jet can cover up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,480km) nonstop.
