Bell & Ross’s modern BR-X5 Black Titanium

An avant-garde timepiece, made of grade 2 titanium and featuring a COSC-certified chronometer movement. It is available in two versions.

“With its manufacture movement and sophisticated design, the BR-X5 has become an iconic watch for the brand and its watchmaking expertise.”  Bruno Belamich, Bell & Ross Creative Director and co-founder.

Bell & Ross has recently added the BR-X5 Black Titanium to its BR-X5 collection. Its case is made from grade 2 titanium, and it is available with either a titanium bracelet or rubber strap.

Dial

The BR-X5 Black Titanium’s functional dial has the following features:

– It has a black dial.

– The central hour and minute hands are matt black and coated with Super-LumiNova® X1. The centre seconds hand is white.

– The hour-markers are coated with Super-LumiNova® X1. The minute-markers between them are graduated in increments of 5-minutes.

– Minutes are displayed on a flange on the outer dial.

– It features a large date aperture at 3 o’clock.

– It features a subdial for power reserve at 9 o’clock.

Case

The BR-X5 Black Titanium’s multi-component case has the following construction and features:

– It is made from grade 2 microblasted titanium. Grade 2 titanium gives it a grey tint, and the micro-sandblasting gives it an anti-reflective matt finish.

– It is assembled around a waterproof container, which protect its calibre BR-CAL.323. The case is “hollowed out and made of titanium, making it lighter and more comfortable.”  Its square bezel and sapphire glass “are fixed on two plates to form the top and bottom of the case.”  The entire case is kept watertight, because of four screws going through the entire case, a sophisticated multi-layer assembly.

– It has a case width of 41 mm and a case thickness of 12.80 mm.

– It features a screw-down crown and crown guard.

– It features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both its dial and caseback side.

– It has a water resistance of 100 metres or 325 feet.

– The timepiece is available with either a titanium bracelet or rubber strap. Both feature a folding buckle, made of microblasted titanium.

Movement

The BR-X5 Black Titanium is powered by calibre BR-CAL.323. It is a COSC-certified manufacture self-winding movement. It has the following features:

– It powers the hours, minutes, seconds, date, and power reserve.

– It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph or 4 Hz.

– It has a power reserve of approximately 70 hours or 3 days.

– It features a skeletonized self-winding rotor and a variable-inertia balance wheel. Both are visible via the sapphire crystal caseback.

– It features a rapid date correction device.

“The calibre is guaranteed for 5 years with a proven performance.”  It is chronometer certified by the COSC, the official Swiss chronometer testing institute.
