Audi India Drives In The New Q8

A tweaked design, more features and a turbocharged 3.0-litre engine are among the model highlights.

Audi first unveiled the refreshed Q8 in September last year. It was launched in the UAE last month. The tweaked top-tier Audi Q model has now entered the Indian market. It sports a starting price tag of INR 1.175 crore, ex-showroom. Among the design changes are a new, more aggressive-looking front grille with vertical inlays, a revised air intake grille, and a restyled diffuser at the rear.

In addition to the tweaked looks, the new Audi Q8 packs more equipment. The list includes HD Matrix LED headlights with laser tech, dynamic indicators, customisable LED DRL signatures, new Park Assist Plus, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 17 speakers and a total output of 730 watts, a 360-degree surround view camera, a four-zone automatic climate control system and 21-inch alloys with red brake callipers. Of course, the features list has a lot more, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.6-inch secondary screen for various vehicle functions, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless mobile charger, powered seats with memory function and a powered tailgate.

The oomph comes from a turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol engine that produces 335hp/500Nm, supported by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Courtesy of a slick 8-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel-drive system, the new Audi Q8 can hit 100kmph from nothing in 5.6 seconds, and clock 250kmph before the electronic speed governers kick in. Six customisable drive modes allow the driver to set the Q8 just right.

Buyers have eight exterior colour options (Gold, Blue, Black, Grey, White, Silver, Brown, and Beige) and four interior themes (Brown, Beige, Black, and Grey).

Audi is also celebrating 100,000 sales in India, a feat achieved in just over 15 years. On this occasion, the German carmaker has devised a 100-day celebration benefit for its customers, including loyalty benefits on any purchase, service plans, extended warranty packages, genuine accessories and merchandise, and corporate and trade-in deals.
