American Airlines Plans New Routes And More Flights For The Winter

Strategic network expansion to strengthen the airline’s leadership in Latin America and the Caribbean.

American Airlines has announced winter network upgrades, launching three new international routes and expanding service to key leisure destinations. The investment focuses on Latin America and the Caribbean, with over 430 peak daily departures to 97 destinations during the holidays.

Beginning October 26, 2025, American will start daily service from Chicago to Mexico City, followed by seasonal daily flights to Queretaro from December 18. On the same day, American will launch daily service between Philadelphia and Santo Domingo. These routes aim to meet winter travel demand and enhance connections to sought-after sunny destinations.

Meanwhile, American will boost frequencies on 11 existing routes from Miami and Philadelphia. From Miami, the airline will add flights to Dominica, Kingston, Marsh Harbour, North Eleuthera, Ocho Rios, San Juan, Santiago, and Tortola. From Philadelphia, more flights will be available to Aruba, San Juan, and St. Maarten. These changes are scheduled to align with peak holiday travel, providing passengers with more flexibility and access to popular getaways.

During the December holiday season, American will offer more than 2.3 million round-trip seats to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America—nearly one million more than its closest competitor. The Miami hub will reach a record 415 peak daily departures, while Philadelphia will serve 14 destinations across the region with over 20 peak-day departures.
