Al-Futtaim Toyota Revives Iconic Billboard to the ‘Toyota Building’ in Dubai

In 1981, Toyota put up a sign on the Nasser Rashid Lootah Building. Located on Shiekh Zayed Road, it has been an iconic visual reference point for decades even though there was no Toyota showroom or service center of the Japanese automotive manufacturer close by

Nasser Rashid Lootah Building, considered as one of Dubai’s first residential towers witnessing the growth of Dubai, was constructed in 1974..

The iconic red-and-white sign on it was removed back in 2018 when the advertisement contract expired. However, the sign is making a comeback due to popular demand.

As a part of its relaunch, Toyota UAE hosted the Toyota Building photowalk. A culturally immersive experience for Toyota fans where they had the opportunity to test drive a Toyota car and capture memorable moments with the disposable camera provided by Toyota UAE.

“The ‘Toyota Building’ has long been a landmark for Dubai residents and visitors alike, forming an inseparable part of the visual heritage of Dubai and its dynamic history of development. We are delighted to bring back the iconic billboard from which the building derived its popular name, and hope that UAE residents accustomed to seeing the red-and-white Toyota Logo will be thrilled to see their beloved advertising once again.” said, Vincent Wijnen, Senior Managing Director, Al-Futtaim Automotive.

Al-Futtaim Toyota has been one of the earliest automotive brands to launch in the UAE commanding a 75-year footprint in the region. They have been hosting engaging activities with communities in the UAE.
