To help a counterpart set up and run its shop efficiently, Latvia’s airBaltic has entered a strategic agreement with a brand-new airline, SUA Líneas Aéreas. According to the paperwork, the former will wet lease five Airbus A220-300s to the latter from October this year. Additionally, airBaltic will support its Latin American counterpart to set up its operations, including pilot training, know-how sharing, and IT and automation. The Latvian party will also help in devising the airline’s sustainability initiatives.
SUA Líneas Aéreas aims to start operations in the fourth quarter of 2025. It’ll offer connections between key destinations across Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. The idea is to provide direct alternatives for regional travellers currently bound by limited or inconvenient options.
