Since 2023, airBaltic and Turkish Airlines have been operating codeshare flights, offering passengers more options while travelling between Riga, Latvia, and Istanbul, Turkey. To further their cause of a global reach, the duo has decided to expand their codeshare partnership to include more routes and cater to a broader set of passengers.
So, under their extended agreement, what new destinations will airBaltic and Turkish Airlines serve? The Latvian airline will be able to place its designator code on Turkish Airlines-operated flights from Istanbul to Tbilisi, Batumi, Ashgabat, Baku, Dushanbe, and Bishkek. Reciprocally, the Turkish carrier will be allowed to add its flight code on airBaltic-operated services from Riga to Turku and Tampere in Finland, and Palanga in Lithuania. This codeshare expansion is expected to go live after receiving the necessary regulatory approvals.
The codeshare flights mentioned above are in addition to the Riga-Istanbul link that airBaltic and Turkish Airlines have had for two years.
