Air India Express Expands Presence In Delhi-NCR

It will begin operating flights from Hindon Airport on August 1, 2024.

Presently, the Delhi-NCR region has two functional commercial airports – Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Air India Express (AIX) offers more than 280 weekly flight options from the former. However, the airline has confirmed that from August 1, 2024, it will commence flight operations from Hindon Airport. From there, AIX will operate 28 weekly flights to three popular destinations in India – Bengaluru, Kolkata and Goa.

Once live, AIX will become the first airline in India to operate from both airports in Delhi-NCR. Hindon Airport is near densely populated areas such as NOIDA, East Delhi, Bulandshahr, Dadri, and others. Tickets are already available on AIX’s official website, with fares starting at INR 5,134.

Between Hindon and Bengaluru, AIX will operate two flights daily starting August 1, 2024. From Bengaluru, the first flight leaves at 05:10 and the second at 11:55. The two outbound flights from Hindon to Bengaluru depart at 08:30 and 15:15. The flight time is 2 hours and 50 minutes.

On August 15, 2024, an AIX flight will depart from Kolkata and land at Hindon at 07:10 and 09:30, respectively. After a 30-minute wait, the flight will leave Hindon for Goa, where it will arrive at 12:45. The return leg starts from Goa at 13:15, lands at Hindon at 15:55, departs for Kolkata at 16:25, and arrives there at 18:45. This will be a daily affair.

AIX has confirmed that it will link more destinations with the airport in Ghaziabad. With one-stop itineraries, cities such as Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Calicut, Kannur, Kochi, Hyderabad, Imphal, Bagdogra, Mangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and Thiruvananthapuram will be added to the network. The carrier will also add Kathmandu, Nepal, and Dhaka, Bangladesh, to its growing network.
