Air India And Air Astana Sign A New Codeshare Agreement

The new partnership makes it easier for travellers to fly between India and Central Asia, with better connections and simpler bookings.

New Partnership for Better Connectivity

Air India has signed a codeshare agreement with Air Astana, the national airline of Kazakhstan. This allows Air India to add its flight code, ‘AI’, to Air Astana’s services between Almaty and Delhi, and Almaty and Mumbai.

Easier Travel to Almaty

Air India passengers flying to Almaty from other Indian cities can now book one ticket and check in their bags at the starting point. This makes the journey smoother and more convenient.

Comments from Airline Leaders

Campbell Wilson, CEO of Air India, said the partnership will help grow tourism and trade between the two countries. Peter Foster, CEO of Air Astana Group, said India is an important market and praised Air India’s strong network.

The More, the Merrier

This agreement builds on an interline partnership from earlier this year. It allows Air India passengers to connect to places like Astana, Bishkek, Tashkent, Dushanbe, and Urumqi via Almaty. Air Astana also has access to 18 Indian cities and nine international destinations through Air India.

Booking Information

Once approved by regulators, these codeshare flights will be available on Air India’s website, mobile app, and through travel agents.
