Air China Cargo has placed an order for six new Airbus A350F freighter aircraft. This deal makes the operator the first in mainland China to purchase this aircraft type.
What does this order mean for Air China Cargo?
The airline says the A350F will boost efficiency and risk management, and Wang Hongyan, VP of Air China Cargo, added it will support stable growth and resilience in cargo operations.
How has Airbus responded to the deal?
Airbus welcomed Air China Cargo as a new customer for the A350F. Benoît de Saint‑Exupéry, EVP Sales of Commercial Aircraft, emphasised the aircraft’s efficiency, performance, and loading flexibility, and stated Airbus will ensure smooth integration into its operations.

What is Air China Cargo’s current network?
Headquartered in Beijing, Air China Cargo is China’s only cargo airline carrying the national flag. Since June 2025, it has operated freighters across China regions and 25 international all-cargo routes to the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, supported by over 1,500 global trucking routes.
What makes the A350F different?
The A350F is the world’s most advanced freighter, carrying 111 tonnes over 8,700 km. Powered by Rolls‑Royce Trent XWB‑97 engines, it has up to 40% lower fuel use and CO₂ emissions than older planes. Made with over 70% advanced materials, it’s lighter than competitors, has the largest main deck cargo door, and meets ICAO’s 2027 CO₂ standards.
