Renault India has launched the hybrid version of its all-new Duster SUV. Dubbed the Duster Hybrid E-Tech 160, it is a strong hybrid that pairs a petrol engine with electric motors and a battery to improve fuel efficiency.

What engine and powertrain does the Renault Duster Hybrid use?
The Duster Hybrid uses a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh lithium-ion battery. The combined system produces 160PS, with the electric traction motor developing 50PS and 208Nm of torque.
Renault claims an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of 29 kmpl, and the SUV can cover up to 80% of city driving in electric mode, depending on driving conditions. The system can operate in electric-only, petrol-only and combined hybrid modes, and the transition between these modes is managed automatically. The hybrid system uses regenerative braking to recharge the battery.
The Duster Hybrid E-Tech, with its combined power delivery from the electric motors and the petrol motor, is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmh in 9.61 seconds.

The hybrid variant does not depart from the standard Duster’s sharp, muscular compact SUV styling while featuring graphic details highlighting its electrified nature. These include an illuminated Duster emblem integrated into the front grille and E-Tech Hybrid badging.
