The Flexjet Farnborough terminal is now open, giving the brand’s aircraft owners a private front door to London. The USD 34 million facility covers 2,098 square metres. It also stands in its own ramp-side building, away from the airport’s main terminal. Construction took two years, and when the doors opened on 10 September, Flexjet could claim a first for Europe.
What is the Flexjet Farnborough terminal?
Put simply, it is Flexjet’s own private terminal. The company’s staff host every guest who passes through, so the service that owners expect on board now begins on the ground. Passengers use it before or after flights on the company’s fleet of more than 350 private jets and helicopters.
The location adds weight. Farnborough is London’s primary private aviation gateway, and Flexjet already treats it as its main European hub. In fact, when the company announced the project in 2024, it billed the site as a first for fractional ownership. By its account, no fractional operator had offered a private terminal outside North America.
Who can use the Flexjet Farnborough terminal?
It is open to Flexjet aircraft owners and their guests, and nobody else. Flexjet sells fractional, or shared, ownership. That means a client buys part of a jet and receives a set number of flying hours each year. The company also offers leasing and has sold fractional shares since 1995. In Europe, its jet fleet includes the Embraer Praetor 600 and the Gulfstream G650.
Flexjet’s reach stretches to the Gulf, too. The company runs ownership and leasing programmes across Europe and the Middle East. In 2022, it launched a Gulfstream G650 in Dubai, which Flexjet called the jet’s first shared-ownership offer in the region. For owners there, a flight into Farnborough now ends at their own private terminal.
How is the Flexjet Farnborough terminal different from a standard FBO?
Private flyers usually pass through an FBO, or fixed-base operator. These shared terminals are open to anyone flying privately through the airport. The Flexjet Farnborough terminal works differently because it admits only Flexjet passengers. That adds privacy and discretion, and it spares owners the crowds that build when several operators share one space.
Service follows the same idea. Flexjet staff guide passengers at every step, while an owner service team keeps the terminal and the flight crew in contact. That way, a guest’s preferences travel with them from lounge to cabin. Farnborough Airport adds dedicated security screening and immigration for Flexjet passengers.

What is inside the Flexjet Farnborough terminal?
Carver Hain Art + Design led the interior, with modern luxury as its guiding theme. First impressions start in the lobby. There, Aero, a commissioned sculpture by British Canadian artist David Spriggs, greets arriving guests. Its swirling, cloud-like forms trace wingtip vortices, the spirals of air that trail behind a wing in flight.
In the centre of the terminal sits the Owners Bar & Lounge. Floor-to-ceiling glass frames the airfield, while the bar menu runs to signature cocktails. Private meeting spaces are also on hand for owners and their guests.
At the launch, Marchesi Antinori and Château Cheval Blanc each poured wines from the terminal’s Flexjet Cellar selection. Long-standing partner Maybourne, meanwhile, brought cuisine from The Connaught and The Connaught Bar Martini.
What is the G700 Fuselage Lounge?
It is the signature space at the Flexjet Farnborough terminal. The lounge recreates, at full size, the cabin of the company’s flagship ultra-long-range jet, the Gulfstream G700. Its interior comes from Flexjet’s own LXi Cabin Collection and includes a private master bedroom suite. As a result, guests can relax in a true-to-scale version of the jet while still on the ground.
The real aircraft backs up the theatre. According to Flexjet, it flies up to 7,750 nautical miles (about 14,350 km), with a top speed of Mach 0.935. Inside, it seats up to 15 passengers plus a cabin server, across four zones for work, dining, play and rest. Flexjet flies the G700 within Red Label, a programme that pairs each aircraft with a dedicated crew.

What else has Flexjet built at Farnborough?
Beyond the lounges, the Flexjet Farnborough terminal doubles as a working base. Its upper floor holds a new Tactical Control Centre and the company’s European headquarters for operations and support staff. It also houses an expanded Red Label Academy, a finishing school of sorts for nearly 300 Flexjet cabin servers worldwide.
The building has a greener side, too. Its 138 solar panels should generate about 37,848 kWh a year, according to Flexjet. A syphonic drainage system collects rainwater and reuses it indoors.
Elsewhere on the airport site, a new 3,530-square-metre hangar now handles maintenance for Flexjet’s global fleet. The hangar adds to a maintenance team of more than 1,500 people across 15 locations. Flexjet calls that network the largest in-house operation of its kind in private aviation.
How does it fit into Flexjet’s wider plans?
By the company’s count, the Flexjet Farnborough terminal joins nine private terminals in the United States, either open or in development. One of them sits at Teterboro, which Flexjet ranks as the world’s busiest airport for private aviation. Together, the pair give owners private gateways to London and New York, two of the world’s biggest financial centres.
The opening also caps a busy stretch. In July 2025, Flexjet announced a USD 800 million investment from a consortium led by L Catterton, an LVMH affiliate. Then, in July 2026, it became the Official Private Aviation Supplier of Formula 1 under a multi-year deal.
Chairman Kenn Ricci hosted the opening ceremony. He called the terminal the company’s boldest infrastructure project yet, apart from its North American headquarters. In his view, it shows that Flexjet ownership now brings far more than flight hours. Private terminals, in-house maintenance, helicopters, curated events and the FXLUXE travel programme all form part of the package.
