Recently, Mercedes-Benz presented the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The new model features a range of exterior and interior design updates, innovative digital technologies, electrified engines, and additional personalisation options. What design upgrades has the exterior received?
The redesigned Mercedes-Maybach S-Class comes with an updated front end that boasts a radiator grille that is some 20 percent larger than the previous model. According to the market and specifications, customers can choose from illuminated exterior accents, including the radiator grille surround, the Maybach script in the radiator grille, the Mercedes-Benz emblem on the hood, and the Maybach logo on the C-pillar.
The headlights feature a rosy gold detail, and the front air intakes get the chrome Maybach pattern. Moving to the back, the taillights are redesigned to match the front lighting design, and chrome and gloss-black details have been applied to the boot lid.
In addition, the company offers new models of forged alloy wheels, such as a 21-inch MANUFAKTUR wheel painted gold and a 20-inch polished forged wheel. Silver-painted forged wheels include a centre cap with a floating Mercedes-Benz star that is kept up by a ball-bearing system.
Another feature is the Night Series package, which has been extended to include a new Nautic Blue Metallic exterior colour, alongside the existing ones.
How has the interior been redesigned?
The interior of the car is being updated with new materials, details, and digital solutions. Specifically, the dashboard gets the latest MBUX Superscreen with graphic elements designed for Maybach cars.
Among the details is open-pore wood trim, which can be made of oak. There is also an option without leather: a Mirville textile interior with diamond quilting and piping.
In addition, Mercedes-Maybach continues to offer extensive personalisation through the MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure option, which allows for the selection of combinations of upholstery materials, stitching, embroidery, and special finishes.
One of the top priorities for the new Maybach will be the rear-seat equipment. Some options will be offered by the manufacturer, including Executive rear seats, automatic comfort doors, a refrigerator compartment, and silver-champagne flutes from Robbe & Berking.
What technology does the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class have?
The 2026 model line is the first time that Mercedes-Maybach cars use the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). MB.OS powers the fourth generation of the MBUX infotainment system, providing a redesigned user interface, a new Zero Layer home screen, and the Virtual Assistant based on generative artificial intelligence.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the car will be able to receive software updates through over-the-air updates of certain software options.
There has been a change in the driver assistance technologies through a computing platform update and a sensor upgrade.
