Yamaha Aerox E Arrives in India at Rs 2.82 Lakh With Sporty Design, 117km Range

Yamaha has launched the Aerox E in India at Rs 2.82 lakh, bringing a sporty design, 117km range, dual removable batteries, and premium EV features to the growing electric scooter segment.

Yamaha Aerox E: What is it?

The premium electric scooter market is on the rise in India, with multiple brands introducing their premium e-scooter models to the new segment. Brands such as Keeway, Ather and Ultraviolette are all introducing their iteration of the segment. Now, the Japanese motorcycle giant, Yamaha, has introduced its version of premium urban mobility: the Yamaha Aerox E, an electric version of the Aerox 155 nameplate, which has established itself as a performance-oriented ICE scooter.

What powers the Yamaha Aerox E?

The Yamaha Aerox E is powered by a 9.4kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, offering a claimed top speed of 95.5 km/h. Yamaha has focused on offering exhilarating performance rather than a regular city commuter. The E-Scooter also utilises a dual removable battery setup, making charging more flexible, especially for riders who may not have access to dedicated home charging infrastructure.

What range does the Yamaha Aerox E offer?

Yamaha claims a range of 117km for the Aerox E. This makes it suitable for everyday city use and short intercity runs, depending on riding conditions and usage patterns.

Yamaha has equipped the Aerox E with a comprehensive list of premium EV features. While the E-Scooter’s primary focus is sporty performance, it also offers the convenience of modern technology.

  • Three riding modes: Eco, Standard and Power
  • Single Channel ABS

The design is one of the highlights of the Aerox E. It retains the muscular and sharp styling associated with the Aerox name, giving it a youthful aesthetic.

What are the other mechanical specifications of the Aerox E?

The Yamaha Aerox E uses a telescopic fork at the front and a twin shock absorber setup at the rear. It rides on 14-inch alloy wheels and has a seat height of 780 mm. The E-Scooter comes with a kerb weight of 139 kg.

Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, along with a single-channel ABS for added safety.
