What is the kollokium 02 (K, P–n°02) Variant B?
It is the second variant (“Variant B”) of kollokium’s second model, the Projekt 02 (K, P–n°02) Friends, Family, Fools and Flippers Edition (FFF&F), pictured below. Like the FFF&F, the Variant B also features a topographical dial housed in a stainless steel case and powered by an automatic movement.
Limited to 299 pieces plus Prototype #1, Variant B is publicly available, albeit first come first serve. The prototype will be auctioned towards “a great cause” at Marteau & Co’s second online auction “ The Echo” being held during March 12 – March 19. The proceeds will be donated to the Musée International d’Horlogerie (MIH).

Who are the founders of kollokium?
kollokium was founded in 2020 by Amr Sindi, Nicolas Barth Nussbaumer, and Manuel Emch – three friends from the watch industry. Manuel Emch is also the CEO of Louis Erard, renowned for its distinctive collaborations available at accessible prices. The three founders define kollokium as a “project-based platform” with a vision to “explore accessible alternatives in watchmaking.”
What are its dial features?
It’s topographical dial is stacked with 67 stacked dial plates featuring a black finish with sandblasted edges. The dial plates are hand-painted “with a vertical gradient of lacquer in 9 tones” and infused with Super-LumiNova (blue emission). The black hour and minute hands feature applied grey Lichtblock™ elements and are coated with Super-LumiNova (blue emission). The fluorescent yellow seconds hand features a bent triangle shaped counterweight.
“It should be noted that given just how much of the dial work is done by hand, industrial-level perfection and super-tight tolerances are not the aim of the game for us. We rejoice in the fact that no two dials will be identical, and that some discrepancies are only natural in this kind of work. In fact, we’re so proud of it that we offer a full panoramic view of the dial through the tall sapphire crystal with rounded edges.”
What are its case and strap features?
Monobloc case is made from 316L stainless steel. Dial side features a cylindrical shaped glass box sapphire crystal. The case measures 39.5 mm (diameter). Height is 5.9 mm (without sapphire crystal) and 12.4 mm (with sapphire crystal). Water resistant up to 5 ATM or approximately 50 metres. The watch comes with an anthracite-coloured elastic textile single-piece strap fitted with a “hook” buckle made from die-cast stainless steel.
“One of the things that we believe makes kollokium stand out from the rest is our approach to making cases. Instead of the tried and tested methods of CNC milling or stamping (yuck), we use a method that isn’t commonly found in watchmaking: diecasting. By working with a mold, the molten 316L stainless steel can take on forms that would be difficult to achieve with other methods, while also exhibiting a unique matte texture that requires no finishing. It’s steel in all its raw glory.”
What kind of movement powers this watch?
It is powered by La Joux-Perret G101, a Swiss Made automatic movement that drives the central hours, minutes and seconds with stop seconds function. It measures 26 mm (diameter) * 4.45 mm (thickness), comprises of 24 jewels, beats at a modern rate of 4 Hz or 28,800 vph and has a power reserve of approximately 68 hours.
“Since kollokium had nothing to do with the movement, it was decided to leave it completely unbranded and unadorned. It’s not like you can see it anyways.”
What do we think?
kollokium proves that creativity knows no limits. They showcased this with the Projekt 01 series and Projekt 02 FFF&F edition, unique watches that are relatively affordable and accessible to a broader segment of watch enthusiasts and collectors. The Projekt 02 (K, P–n°02) Variant B continues this ethos. There is nothing else like it across the watch industry, and it will complement any collection that appreciates great design with a dose of audacity. The hard part will be getting one of the 299 pieces.
