Small rig, big results: Unleash the RØDECaster Video Core

• The RØDECaster Video Core provides a compact, high-powered video switching solution for modern creators. • New RØDECaster Sync technology links video and audio consoles into one unified production hub. • Major firmware updates add timeline exporting for DaVinci Resolve and extra audio channels for the Duo.

What is the RØDECaster Video Core?

The RØDECaster Video Core is a compact new addition to RØDE’s video lineup. It offers the same massive processing power as the flagship model but in a smaller frame. Therefore, it fits perfectly on a crowded desk or in a mobile kit.

This unit acts as an all-in-one hub for switching, streaming, and recording. It supports up to four video sources and five custom scenes simultaneously. Consequently, solo creators can produce broadcast-quality shows without needing a full crew. This launch marks a pivotal shift in content creation, as the expanded ecosystem now supports creators at every skill level by making professional production more accessible than ever before.

How does RØDECaster Sync work?

RØDE also introduced a defining new feature called RØDECaster Sync. This allows you to connect the Video Core to a RØDECaster Pro II or Duo console. Because of this, your audio and video gear work as one single system.

By using a simple USB-C cable, you can scale your studio effortlessly. For instance, audio-first podcasters can now add professional video with zero fuss. As a result, managing a complex show becomes much simpler. By tearing down these technical barriers, the system democratises high-end production for users worldwide.

The hardware is built for high-end performance. It features an octa-core CPU and three HDMI inputs with automatic frame rate conversion. Additionally, it includes two studio-grade Neutrik combo jacks for pristine audio.

Furthermore, the unit supports network cameras through NDI technology. You can also record your show directly to an external SSD. Meanwhile, the RØDE Capture app lets you use an iPhone as a wireless camera source.

Which firmware updates are available?

Alongside the new gear, RØDE announced several major firmware enhancements. For example, a new EDL export feature lets you move your production timeline into DaVinci Resolve. This makes the editing process much faster for video podcasters.

Moreover, the RØDECaster Duo now supports nine audio channels instead of seven. The update also improves webcam compatibility for a wider range of USB devices. Finally, these updates ensure the entire ecosystem remains the industry standard for creators.
