A black dial and case aren’t just a black dial and case. The dark colour presents a perfect canvas for creativity and artistic expression. The Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo, Hublot’s fourth collaboration with the legendary Japanese brand, features black and grey camo printing, and together with HUB1110 – its automatic movement, is housed in a 42 mm microblasted black ceramic case. It is a Hublot masterclass in the colour black.

Big Bang UNICO Petrol Blue Ceramic and Mint Green Ceramic

Both the Big Bang Petrol Blue Ceramic and Mint Green Ceramic showcase a skeleton dial and a 42 mm polished ceramic case, bezel, and caseback – all in the individual model’s namesake colour. Powered by MHUB1280, it is the brand’s UNICO Manufacture automatic movement that features a column wheel flyback chronograph. Both versions feature the brand’s “One-Click” quick-strap change system.

A skeleton dial watch with an impressive chronograph movement – featuring a Swiss silicon lever escapement – and available in a choice of two colours make the Big Bang UNICO a compelling proposition. Collectors would be hard pressed to acquire such a model from any other watch brand with these features, colours, versatility (“One-Click” System), and relatively accessible price.

Big Bang One Click Petrol Blue Ceramic Diamonds and Mint Green Ceramic Diamonds

Choice of two colours, diamonds on the bezel, and versatility (“One-Click” System) make this model an ideal companion for a lady seeking an exciting daily wear watch.

Big Bang One Click Joyful

This series of five ladies’ watches showcases a glossy white dial and a 33 mm satin-finished and polished stainless-steel case powered by the MHUB1120 automatic movement. Each version features a different gemstone masterfully set into the polished stainless-steel bezel. They include: 36 red spinels (spinel group of minerals); 36 orange sapphires; 36 pink sapphires; 36 blue topazes; and 36 tsavorites (garnet family).

Each version is delivered with a rubber strap in the same colour as the gemstones, and a second strap “in a more intense tone of the same colour” is also provided. The brand’s “One-Click” System allows the wearer to swap straps easily and paired with the “bling” of the gemstones, makes them a true embodiment of the term “versatile luxury.”

Concluding Thoughts

Watchmaking’s often serious nature is often reflected in the watches. Cases made from stainless steel, pink and white gold, platinum, and a handful of typical dial colours (white-silver, black, and blue) tend to dominate the industry. Hublot is not afraid to “let its hair down” by highlighting haute horology in colourful dials and cases, the latter often crafted from ceramic, carbon, sapphire crystal, and other variations of these materials.
