2026 Bajaj Chetak E-Scooter Launched in India

Bajaj launched the new-generation Chetak electric scooter in India on January 14, 2026, targeting budget buyers with prices under ₹1 lakh ex-showroom.

Bajaj Auto launched an entry-level variant of its Chetak E-scooter lineup, aimed at budget-conscious buyers. The affordable C2501 model emphasises cost efficiency, with affordable pricing, a lowered range and simplified features.

What defines the Bajaj Chetak C2501?

The Bajaj Chetak C2501 variant serves as the entry point to the Chetak EV family, boasting a compact design with a 108kg kerb weight and styling that subtly distinguishes it from its elder siblings. The changes include a new horizontal LED taillight, horseshoe headlamp, and handlebar-mounted indicators.

What are its powertrain and range specs?

The Chetak C2501 is offered with a floorboard-mounted 2.5kWh NMC battery powering a hub-mounted motor that makes 2.2kW (peak), delivering 113km IDC range, 55 km/h top speed, Eco/Sport modes, and 0-100% charge in 3hr 55min via a 750W offboard charger.

What features does the C2501 offer?

The Chetak C2501 comes equipped with a Bluetooth-enabled reverse LCD console for calls and SMS alerts, music control, hill hold, reverse mode, and a USB port for charging a small electronic gadget while on the go.

How does the C2501 chassis and frame differ from higher trims?

The CS501 variant utilises a rudimentary telescopic fork at the front and twin shocks at the rear (vs. the premium variant’s leading link suspension, the front and a/monoshock at the rear), twin-sided swingarm, and steel frame shared with the lineup, but the entry-level C2501 skips the TFT screen for cost efficiency and instead gets a reverse LCD.

What colour options are available and what warranty applies?

The Bajaj Chetak C2501 variant is available in six shades, like Racing Red and Ocean Teal. On the warranty side of things, the C2501 is backed by a 3-year/50,000km warranty.

What is the price of the Bajaj Chetak C2501?

The C2501 variant is priced at ₹91,399 ex-showroom (introductory), it undercuts its much more premium siblings like the 3001 by ₹8,000 and rivals such as TVS Orbiter and Honda QC1.
