BIRKENSTOCK 1774 Brings Back the Spirit of 1920s Berlin

BIRKENSTOCK 1774 is looking back to move forward with its new Becomes Berlin Collection. This season takes inspiration from 1920s Berlin, a time of change, creativity, and bold design and channels it into some of the brand’s most loved silhouettes.

The collection feels like a conversation between past and present. Classic BIRKENSTOCK styles get reworked with details that nod to the era: art deco-style buckles, rich velvet straps, and soft suede in deep, moody tones. The palette comes from early 20th-century interiors and architecture, giving the pieces a refined but wearable edge.

Key highlights this season include:
ARIZONA VELVET in black and lavender, finished with decorative buckles.
FLORIDA and ARIZONA with added bow details, a subtle twist that feels new but still very BIRKENSTOCK.

LONDON SUEDE in black and burgundy for an elevated everyday option.
222 WEST SUEDE in black and cream, clean and versatile.
The MARIA SUEDE, pulled from the archives, is available in both black and burgundy.

As always, the craftsmanship is front and centre. Every pair has the comfort BIRKENSTOCK is known for, while introducing small shifts in texture, proportion, and finish that make them feel relevant today.

The Becomes Berlin Collection is less about looking back and more about reinterpreting history in a way that feels current. Just like 1920s Berlin was about freedom and self-expression, this line is about bringing that same energy into modern dressing.

The collection will be available from 11 September 2025 at 1774.com, BIRKENSTOCK stores, and select retailers worldwide.
