As Genesis‘s first adventure concept, the X Gran Equator Concept reinterprets Genesis’s “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy while embracing the spirit of off-roading.
The X Gran Equator Concept’s exterior design highlights elegant lines and uncluttered surfaces. The Genesis X Gran Equator Concept features a long hood, a sleek cabin, and fast C-pillars. Dark fender flares and 24-inch beadlock wheels highlight its off-road readiness. The geometric auxiliary lights and opening tailgate blend practicality with the Genesis signature dual-line headlights, ensuring the X Gran Equator is purposeful and engaging.
The Genesis X Gran Equator Concept blends analog architecture with digital technologies, creating a functional and exciting space. At the cabin’s centre is a four-circle display panel inspired by vintage camera dials on the centre console. The interior design features contrasting colours and shapes, favouring geometric elements over organic ones. The dashboard’s linear design and absence of decoration focus the driver’s attention on the journey, while the swivelling front seats and modular storage solutions enhance practicality.
The Genesis X Gran Equator Concept is a sleek, capable vehicle that can perform in extreme conditions while maintaining a natural sense of agility. Its name is inspired by the Equator, known as the “finest stallion” in Arabian horses, a symbol of endurance, agility, and refined power.
Although the X Gran Equator has not yet been confirmed for production, its design and innovative features—such as integrated roof rails and a power-retractable tailgate—highlight the brand’s future design potential.
The X Gran Equator concept was displayed at the Genesis stand during the 2025 New York International Auto Show on April 18 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre. Following the show, it will be displayed at Genesis House New York in the Meatpacking District until the end of July.
