Bentley’s bespoke studio creates interiors ‘Inspired by China’ with captivating features

The in-house Mulliner studio has created eight collections celebrating Chinese culture

Suppose you happen to be Chinese or a Chinese cultural enthusiast and you want more vibrant and captivating images inside your Bentley. Bentley’s Mulliner studio is here to help with that request. They create bespoke interior designs and have recently created three based on Chinese cultural concepts and images.

Mulliner’s meticulous attention was brought to their first motif, the Colorful Koi Carp. Believing to bring courage and luck, the Bentayga EWB provided the canvas necessary to capture the vibrant colors and texture. The Beluga black interior and Mandarin orange accents provide a contrast to the Koi shown swimming. Shown swimming in a clockwise direction, for symbolic meaning, the number of them is six for good reasons too as it is considered to be a lucky number.

Next, they added some famous landscapes, inspired by the painting ‘A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains’ by Wang Ximeng from the Song Dynasty (960-1276 CE). The themes of harmony in nature and man were used by complementing images of trees, boats, and figures. The Flying Spur Azure was used for this next creation and in the end, shapes, details, embroidery, and overlays were used throughout the cabin.

Finally, “Ru Yi”, a traditional Chinese decorative object, was used in the shape of a scepter or a wand. This symbol of good luck, prosperity, and the fulfillment of wishes is seen inside with its curved, cloud-like head and long straight handle. The Flying Spur has this symbol used with embroidered gold thread to the seat facing and matched in silver overlay to the passenger fascia and treadplates.

If these three examples aren’t enough, Mulliner can create even more with their ‘Inspired by China’ collection. Featuring dragons, lions dancing, and pandas, there is something for everyone if this is the Bentley interior of your dreams.

Cheers!
