The UAE now welcomes a new luxury EV carmaker from China called AVATR via an exclusive distributor in Smart Mobility International. To commemorate the arrival of AVATR in the UAE, Smart Mobility International hosted an exclusive media event on Habtoor Boulevard in Dubai where The Cornea Impression was invited for the same. AVATR showcased its product line-up at the media event and here are our initial thoughts about one of those forthcoming products from AVATR for the UAE.
The media unveiling event set the stage for AVATR to host an official launch event, slated for late November, followed by the announcement of a new AVATR showroom opening in Dubai. The exclusive media unveiling helped us with an exclusive first look at the new AVATR cars – the AVATR 11 luxury SUV and the AVATR 12 luxury gran coupe.
The AVATR 11 was showcased in a unique Liquid Caramel paint shade featuring zero-gravity front seats, a 570hp dual-motor powertrain setup along a CATL-developed battery pack offering over 700kms of range with rapid charging capabilities. The AVATR 12, on the other hand, is a luxury gran tourer with a coupe roofline, no rear windscreen, panoramic HD screens that span the width of the dashboard and a Meridian Sound system with 25 speakers.
For the unaware, AVATR aims to produce a new line of SEVs (Smart Electric Vehicles) with its first product, the AVATR 11, getting launched as early as 2022. Headquartered in Chongqing, China, AVATR leverages the strengths of strategic partners – Chang’an Automobile aiding AVATR with enhanced R&D and manufacturing and CATL helping AVATR with high-performance batteries and rapid-charging systems, in its products. AVATR boasts design centres in Germany with the design ethos primed to encapsulate the future of technology and luxury.
