The Dalmore introduces a new plan for releasing rare whiskies
The Cask Curation Series debut editions are The Sherry Edition and The Port Edition. Both editions includes three aged whiskies, totalling 97-100 years, and are limited to 150 sets worldwide. They will be unveiled in the Middle East.
The Dalmore has just launched The Cask Curation Series, a new four-year plan that “will feature annual limited releases, culminating in a collection that showcases sets of three aged whiskies, totalling an extraordinary 95-105 years.” The debut editions first release is The Sherry Edition (2023) and second release The Port Edition (2024).
The Dalmore Distillery was founded in 1839 in Alness, in the Highland region of Scotland. The Dalmore is a prestigious global brand of single malt whisky. The Dalmore Distillery is managed by Whyte & Mackay, headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland. Whyte & Mackay is owned by Alliance Global Group, Inc’s subsidiary Emperador Inc. Alliance Global Group, Inc. is a conglomerate based in the Philippines, and Emperador Inc. is Philippines largest liquor company, and the world’s largest brandy manufacturer.

The Sherry Edition (First Release)

This edition is a set of three single cask single malt’s “celebrating” the brand’s enduring relationship with González Byass, one of Spain’s most well-known sherry bodegas. This “first release explores how the rarest of Sherry casks can enhance and complement the signature character” of The Dalmore’s single malt whiskies.
The three single malts are aged 26, 28, and 43 years respectively.
The Port Edition (Second Release)

This edition is a set of three single cask single malt’s “celebrating” the brand’s respected partnership with Grahams Port, among the most important producers of port wine in the world. It is based in Portugal. This partnership highlights “the unique effects of Port pipe maturation on the whisky. Through careful selection of exquisite Single Harvest casks from pivotal moments in Port production history, whisky makers have crafted a blend that unveils layers of berry fruits, rich cocoa, and nutty depth, all hallmarks of The Dalmore house style.”
The three single malts are aged 27, 30, and 43 years respectively.
Our Thoughts
The Dalmore’s The Sherry Edition and The Port Edition are exquisitely crafted and unique interpretations of Highland single cask single malt whiskies. Either of the two editions is ideal for collectors of ultra-premium luxury spirits, who can be assured that they are extremely rare, highly collectible, and a possible future investment.
