Made In India Range Rover Sports deliveries commence

Now, More affordable than ever!

Earlier this year Jaguar Land Rover announced their intentions to locally assemble their Range Rover SUVs Range Rover LWB and Range Rover Sports in their facility based in Pune India. And a few weeks earlier they unveiled and brought the Made in India Range Rover LWB SUV on the showroom floor ready for deliveries – as of Tuesday, 13th August deliveries for the Range Rover Sport have begun at an asking price of INR 1.40 cr, around INR 29 lakh cheaper than the imported model.

It is to be noted these are not the first SUVs that are assembled in India, Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar were being assembled in their Pune facility for a while not along with the JAGUAR F-Pace – with the commencement of deliveries for Range Rover Sports completed Range Rover’s entire portfolio that are assembled in India.

It is a historical mark in Range Rovers’ history that for the first time, they are being completely produced at a different facility aside from their Iconic Manufacturing facility based in the UK – these Locally assembled SUVs are as of yet only meant for the local market and global operations shall continue to ensue from Solihull, United Kingdom.

This decision came into effect due to a sharp rise in the demand for the premium market that Indians are becoming more and more accustomed to in the past few years that have opened the avenue for multiple luxury automakers to sure foot their footprint in this early phase and establish themselves as the major players in this new Indian Automobile market.

Naturally, Range Rover that is the epitome of Luxury and SUVs also saw a surge in demand for their products, so, to capitalize more on this opportunity JLR decided to restructure and ensure a price cut of nearly 18-22% across their portfolio along with shorter delivery timelines.

“It’s a significant milestone as we begin the deliveries of the locally manufactured Range Rover Sport. With this, the complete Range Rover Portfolio is now made in India. This is a testament to JLR’s commitment to offering world-class luxury vehicles for the discerning clients of India” – Rajan Amba, MD JLR INDIA.

Range Rover Sports is based on a state-of-the-art, MLA-FLEX ARCHITECTURE and is stocked with adaptive suspension, off-road cruise control, intelligent all-wheel drive etc. along with all the bells and whistles that one is accustomed to finding in the interior of a luxury SUV.
