Gerald Charles launches Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon

This grand complication celebrates Roman architecture and art, and features an abundance of case, dial, and movement details. It is a limited edition of 50 pieces.

Gerald Charles has just launched the Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon.

It is a tribute to Mr. Gérald Charles Genta (1st May 1931 – 17th August 2011), a Swiss watchmaker and artist, who founded his namesake brand Gerald Charles in the year 2000. “He gave his two first names to his latest brand to create a unique bond between himself and his creations.”  Mr. Genta is one of the most well-renown watch designers of all time. His legacy includes designs for Audemars Piguet, IWC, Omega, Patek Philippe and Universal Genèva. Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus are among his most famous designs.

Mr. Genta designed the Gerald Charles Maestro. The collection was unveiled in 2005, a Maestro case with a tourbillon. “Featuring the iconic smile at 6 o’clock, the case has the perfect shape to host the tourbillon cage.”

As compared to the Maestro 9.0 Tourbillon unveiled in 2023, the new Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon “has been revisited with a new twist on the tourbillon embracing an old-style elegance.”  It celebrates Roman architecture and art, both an inspiration for the Maestro case design, further highlighted by the Roman numerals, III, IX and XIII, on the dial. The Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon represents Gerald Charles “core values and origins” and highlights the brand’s “high-end skills and expertise in going beyond the limits.”
