India’s First Supercharged Suzuki Jimny

This humble little offroader from Japan is modest with its power figure – It seems there’s a solution out there.

Jimny was Maruti Suzuki’s move at the ever-popular lifestyle SUV segment that has taken shape in the Indian Automobile scene. Unfortunately, Suzuki Jimny hasn’t performed as prophesied, many factors were at play, one of them being the most prominent – below-par performance figures the K15B engine yielded and the lack of a diesel option.

It doesn’t seem like Maruti Suzuki is spewing into action to rectify these shortcomings – But, not all hope is lost – since the deliveries began for the suv plenty of owners have taken it upon themselves to improve their beloved SUVs and modify them for such, some went the hardcore offroading route some focused on the glittery stuff to make their SUV stand out and some floored the accelerator pedal and said “I can make it better”, this exact attitude resulted in Jimny’s with aftermarket cold air intake or some tune.

But the folks at 6th Mile customs decided to take a step further and added a supercharger kit to the K15B engine of the Suzuki Jimny which escalated the power to 130 hp from 100 hp, they achieved these numbers by installing a supercharger kit manufactured by bullet supercharging imported from Australia.

other exterior modifications done to the SUV include a custom aluminium front bumper that helps improve the approach angle of the SUV. It also gets new, more powerful fog lights, a winch, and additional auxiliary lights. A blacked-out Suzuki Grill that I must confess looks great, with a new aftermarket rear bumper which is completely blacked out to go with the whole dark and sinister vibes of the vehicle.

onto more mechanical upgrades it gets high-end offroading alloys from method race wheels which were flown over from the United States and upgraded Tough Dog suspension to go with the ofroading wheels.

More on the under-the-hood stuff which is where all 130 of the horsepower is produced. To go with the bullet supercharger the owner had to do some custom modifications under the hood such as – a new water-to-air intercooler, a new pulley system, and a new, bigger exposed air filter. Additionally, the Bullet Supercharging kit comes with a new header.

A Custom exhaust mid-pipe section and an and can that is neatly finished by twin exhaust pipes at the end offering a very distinct exhaust note than your average Jimny.

In a video shared by The Drivers Hub, a channel that got the privilege to test drive India’s first ever Supercharged Jimny, the host in the video has disclosed the amount spent by the owner on this Jimny to get it where it is – The said amount is close to 7 lakh rupees which is almost half of the original price of the vehicle.

The owner spent half the amount of the original asking price of a fresh off-the-floor Jimny to get it to his liking – Do you think it was worth it?
