Heads up, photo enthusiasts! Leica Camera AG just announced the launch of their new Leica D-Lux 8, hitting stores worldwide on July 2nd, 2024. This latest addition builds on the D-Lux series’ legacy, which has been a top pick for Leica’s compact camera fans since 2003.

The D-Lux 8 brings the legendary Leica experience in a smaller, more user-friendly package. They’ve kept the iconic design everyone loves but with a focus on making it even easier to use. The controls are now simpler and arranged for better handling, and the user interface is inspired by their popular Leica Q-Cameras, so it’s super intuitive.

Small Camera, Big Features

Don’t let the compact size fool you – the D-Lux 8 packs a serious punch. It has a powerful 4/3” CMOS sensor that takes stunning 17-megapixel photos (with a total resolution of 22 megapixels). Plus, it features the super-fast Leica DC Vario-Summilux lens, letting you capture high-quality images in all kinds of lighting and at different zoom ranges (think from wide landscapes to zoomed-in portraits).

This camera also introduces a new feature to the D-Lux series: the versatile DNG format. This gives photographers more editing options to get the most out of their photos later on. Plus, the built-in flash adds extra flexibility for shooting in various situations.

The D-Lux 8 connects seamlessly with the Leica FOTOS app, so you can easily transfer your photos and even control the camera remotely from your phone.
