BMW AGMC debuts the all-new 5 Series and i5 in the Middle East

The new sedan gets fresh looks and more touch-screen real estate than before

1972 marked the year when BMW unveiled the 5 Series to the world. 2013 marks the unveiling of the BMW 5 Series’ eighth successful generation and more importantly, the debut of the all-electric i5. AGMC, the exclusive importer of BMW Group vehicles in Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates, leads the Middle East market by being the first to launch the latest BMW 5 Series and the all-new BMW i5 in the region.

First deliveries for BMW i5 and 5 Series customers in the Middle East region will commence from the last half of November 2023. AGMC hosted the regional launch of the new BMW 5 Series and i5 in a private villa at the resort setting of Nikki Beach in Dubai.

“Clear, reduced design language and athletic proportions” is how BMW describes the new exteriors of the 5 Series. The iconic kidney grille on the new 5 Series, which now is illuminated, grows larger compared to its predecessor and gets complimented with new headlights and extended new flat tail light units.

For the first time, the new 5 Series comes with a fully vegan interior as standard. The driver-centric BMW Curved Display with the new BMW iDrive infotainment software spanning a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen Control Display from the newer more luxurious BMW models gets offered in the new 5 Series as well. The grippy steering wheel gets integrated controls on its horizontal spokes and gets a flat-bottom section, a first in the 5 Series’ history.

The new and all-electric BMW i5 offers 582kms of claimed range out of a 84.4kWh battery and 340hp with 193kph top speed in standard guise. The performance variant makes do with a 81.1kWh battery pack providing up to 516kms of range and 601hp with a 230kph top speed. BMW offers two petrol iterations, M Sport Pro and the 520iM Sport Titanium – both with 208hp 4-cylinder, 2-0.litre engine with max speed of 230 km/h.
