ex-Deadmau5 McLaren Senna gets t-boned – it’s now totalled

The Hamilton Collection's black and green Senna has been totalled following this unfortunate incident

A black and green McLaren Senna, formerly owned by Canadian music producer, Deadmau5 has been written off following a collision with a Chevrolet Cobalt in Illinois.

This particular Senna has been in the Hamilton Collection for just a few months and now it looks like it might not make it back on the road again anytime soon.

As you can see from the photos and video of the aftermath of the accident, the Senna’s driver-side door is completely shattered, the front left wheel is hanging on by a thread and the carbon fibre chassis doesn’t look in a good way either.

According to the owner, this damage wouldn’t be feasible to repair – costing them hundreds of thousands of dollars and up to a year without the car while it gets fixed at McLaren in Woking, England. He also said he would rather it was totalled because at least that way he could use the insurance money to go out and buy another.

The Hamilton Collection is a private exotic car collection owned and run by Steve Hamilton. His aim with this collection is to give back by letting others sit in and drive his amazing $30 million fleet of supercars, hypercars, off-road vehicles, and even a limo.

The Senna was the first hypercar Steve had ever purchased but unfortunately, it saw a sad end the other evening. The McLaren Senna came out in 2018 and arrived as a tribute to legendary F1 driver Ayrton Senna who sadly died in 1994 while racing at the San Marino Grand Prix.

McLaren’s masterpiece took the world by storm when it was first announced, with lots of active aero, crazy speeds and a massive rear wing that produces up to 800kg of downforce. Of course, you’d need that much force pushing it onto the tarmac because it’s powered by a stonking-great twin-turbocharged V8 taken from the 720s. This modified unit produces 800hp and 800Nm of torque.
