MotoGP has officially unveiled its 2026 race calendar, featuring 22 Grands Prix and a record eight doubleheader weekends. The season kicks off on 1 March at Thailand’s Buriram Circuit and concludes on 22 November with the traditional finale at Valencia.
Key Changes to the Calendar
The biggest headline is the return of the Brazilian Grand Prix after a 22-year absence. Replacing Argentina on the schedule, the race will be held on 22 March at the Ayrton Senna Circuit in Goiânia.
The opening stretch of the championship is heavily weighted towards Asia and the Americas. Following the curtain-raiser in Thailand, the paddock heads to Brazil and then to Austin for the United States Grand Prix on 29 March, which marks the first doubleheader of the season. The “flyaway” rounds wrap up with Qatar at Lusail on 12 April, before MotoGP lands in Europe.
European Season and Doubleheaders
Europe kicks off on 26 April in Jerez, Spain, followed by three back-to-back doubleheader runs:
10 May (Le Mans) and 17 May (Barcelona)
31 May (Mugello) and 7 June (Balaton Park, Hungary)
21 June (Brno) and 28 June (Assen)
The first half of the season ends on 12 July at Germany’s Sachsenring before the summer break.
Silverstone, which was dropped from the start of this year’s schedule due to logistical issues, returns on 9 August. Aragon remains on the calendar, running on 30 August. September features another doubleheader at Misano (13 September) and Austria’s Red Bull Ring (20 September).
Flyaway Finale and Season End
MotoGP’s Asian tour resumes in October: Japan’s Motegi (4 October) and Indonesia’s Mandalika (11 October) lead into Australia’s Phillip Island (25 October) and Malaysia’s Sepang (1 November). The final European swing brings the Portuguese GP at Portimão (15 November) before the traditional Valencia Grand Prix finale on 22 November.
Valencia will welcome riders back on 25 November for the first official test ahead of the 2027 season, just two days after the finale.
